Victorian life by the sea — Weston Super Mare
A Stroll Through Time.
A tribute to the town’s enduring charm and character.
Royal Parade, Weston‑super‑Mare — A Stroll Through Time
Royal Parade stands as one of Weston’s most elegant Victorian promenades, a place where seaside leisure met architectural pride. Built during the town’s 19th‑century rise as a fashionable resort, it offered visitors a refined walkway overlooking the bay, framed by graceful façades, iron railings, and the ornate drinking fountain that still anchors the view today. In its heyday, ladies in bonnets and parasols strolled past the pavilion while carriages rolled along the cobbled street, the scent of sea air mingling with the glow of gas lamps. Behind them, the hillside houses and church spire watched over the town’s growing prosperity — Weston’s transformation from a quiet coastal village into a thriving destination for health and holiday.

Artist's Statement
My artwork is created through a partnership between traditional artistic experience and modern AI assistance. After 50+ years as a pastel artist, arthritis forced me to adapt — AI became a tool that allows me to continue creating at a professional level. I design the scenes, choose the historical details, direct the lighting, composition and atmosphere. AI helps me experiment, refine, and bring those ideas to life. It’s not a replacement for creativity — it’s an extension of it.
